The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. The interim results exceeded the forecasts due to the foreign-exchange impact of the yen's depreciation, control of selling, general and administrative expenses, the postponement of expense recognition and an increase in foreign-exchange gains. For the full year, the forecasts were revised upward against a backdrop of capital investment demand in the LNG sector, aircraft manufacturers' production expansion plans, demand for dialysis treatment in overseas markets and the weaker yen. The revised forecasts also incorporate costs to prepare for future risks and one-off operating profit of approximately ¥2 billion related to business restructuring in prior years.
