「In principle, the analysis covered the period through 2050 and was conducted comprehensively from 3 perspectives: short term, approximately 3 years; medium term, through 2030; and long term, through 2050. While referring to multiple existing scenarios published by the International Energy Agency (IEA), the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) and other organizations, the company developed views of the world based on 2 climate change scenarios: a case in which the average temperature increase by the end of this century from the pre-industrial period is less than 2°C, and a 4°C case.」
Based on its support for the TCFD recommendations and with assistance from external experts, the company analyzed climate change risks and opportunities across short-, medium- and long-term periods through 2050 under sub-2°C and 4°C scenarios.
