「The Group has established the “Basic Policy on Sustainability at the Shibuya Group” and is working to promote environmental management. Specifically, it is pursuing initiatives to contribute to decarbonization, including developing the following manufacturing systems to meet customers’ needs for resource and energy conservation and decarbonization, and establishing green procurement standards aimed at reducing the environmental impact across the entire supply chain.」
In addition to the previous 4°C and 1.5°C scenario analyses, the Company describes specific responses including the development of resource- and energy-efficient manufacturing systems, establishment of green procurement standards and reduction of environmental impact across the entire supply chain. - FY2023First statedAnnual report
「To identify the risks and opportunities arising from climate change, the Company conducted scenario analyses based on 2030, as Japan has set 2030 targets aligned with carbon neutrality by 2050. Using scenarios published by the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) and the IEA (International Energy Agency), the analysis quantitatively and qualitatively assessed two scenarios: a 4°C scenario, under which temperatures rise by 4°C by around 2100 compared with the global average temperature around the Industrial Revolution, and a 1.5°C scenario, under which efforts toward carbon neutrality limit the temperature increase to 1.5°C.」
The Company analyzed climate-related risks and opportunities as of 2030 under 4°C and 1.5°C scenarios, examining flooding and storm surges, drought, carbon pricing, soaring materials prices and demand for decarbonization.
