Reason for the revision

Revenue is expected to exceed the previous forecast, mainly due to the first-half recognition of sales of material-handling equipment that had been postponed in the industrial machinery business and recognition of sales from a large automated parking facility project that had not been included in the plan. A recovery in market conditions in the machine tools business and increased sales of hard-disk-related products and consumables in the semiconductor-related business are also expected to contribute to higher revenue and profit. Although profit is expected to decline in the metal forming business due to the Mexico subsidiary falling short of its plan for automotive components, the increase in profit centered on the industrial machinery business is expected to more than offset this decline.

The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

Sales recognition for material-handling equipment that had been postponed in the industrial machinery business, as well as a large unplanned automated parking facility project, is expected to boost revenue. A recovery in market conditions in the machine tools business and increased sales of semiconductor-related products are also expected to contribute, resulting in higher profit that will more than offset the decline in profit at the Mexico subsidiary of the metal forming business.
