Reason for the revision

Net sales were below the forecast due to postponed sales resulting from major customers' adjustments to capital expenditures, sluggish resale sales of used equipment, adjustments to delivery schedules for hard disk-related equipment, delays in the transition and market penetration of medical-related products and services, and weak sales in the cleaning-related business. Operating income was affected by the decline in net sales, while ordinary income was affected by the decline in operating income. Net income exceeded the forecast due to the effect of recognizing negative goodwill in connection with an acquisition.

The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

Net sales were below the forecast due to postponed sales resulting from major customers' adjustments to capital expenditures, sluggish resale sales of used equipment, adjustments to delivery schedules for hard disk-related equipment, adjustments related to the transition to next-generation medical equipment and delays in the market penetration of services and products, and weak performance in the cleaning-related business. Operating income was affected by the decline in net sales, while ordinary income was affected by the decline in operating income, although bad debt losses were eliminated and foreign exchange gains and losses improved. Net income exceeded the forecast due to the effect of recognizing negative goodwill in connection with an acquisition.
