The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Net sales for the fiscal year increased against the backdrop of demand trends in areas including semiconductors, electrical equipment and machine tools. Operating income was at roughly the same level as in the previous fiscal year due to higher cost ratios, personnel expenses and depreciation, while the increase in ordinary income was mainly attributable to higher foreign exchange gains. For the next fiscal year, the company expects a recovery in demand related to semiconductors and automobiles and increased demand for automation and labor-saving solutions due to labor shortages, while uncertainty from geopolitical risks, U.S. policy developments and exchange-rate fluctuations is expected to continue.
