The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Large projects for the food and pharmaceutical industries and other customers contributed to revenue in the Process Engineering business, while the recording of high-margin projects increased profit. In the Heat Exchangers business, costs for restructuring the Konoike facility and provisions made for sales strategy reasons weighed on profit, while higher raw material prices reduced profit in the Valves business. The decline in net income was attributed in part to the absence of gains on the sale of shares recorded in the previous fiscal year.
