Factors Behind Changes in Business Performance

Although revenue was recognized for the completed installation of cleaning equipment for Chinese and Korean manufacturers, equipment for a Korean foundry being installed in the United States will be recorded as sales in the second half, resulting in lower revenue. Inventory valuation losses on materials and other items resulted in an operating loss and ordinary loss, while investigation expenses incurred by the Special Investigation Committee and other items also reduced net income.

The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

Although revenue was recognized for the completed installation of cleaning equipment for Chinese and Korean manufacturers, sales of equipment for a Korean foundry currently being installed in the United States shifted to the second half, resulting in lower revenue. On the earnings side, inventory valuation losses on materials and other items contributed to the operating and ordinary losses, while investigation expenses incurred by the Special Investigation Committee and other items also affected net income.
