The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. The business environment is expected to change substantially over the next 10 to 15 years as a result of population decline, population aging and the continuing shift to digital services. This is expected to lead to declining mail volumes and customer visits to post office counters, as well as higher operating costs, while making it necessary to develop and expand new growth areas. In light of these factors, the Group aims to ensure the sustainability of universal services while achieving growth in new business areas and other fields.
