Factors Behind Changes in Business Performance

Sales of optical equipment-related products expanded in the Chinese market, while sales of semiconductor-related materials also remained strong. Sales of high-pressure equipment-related products, drawn steel tubes and kneading tools also remained strong. Price pass-through to reflect higher raw material costs progressed for battery-related molds, magnet-related molds and cemented carbide materials. Lower expenses for outsourcing processing, electricity and fuel, and repairs, together with contributions from overseas subsidiaries, also supported results.
