Revised forecast
Fiscal year ending March 2027 · Second quarter (interim period) and full yearPrevious forecast published 15 May 2026The bar length represents the relative magnitude of change, based on the item that changed the most in this document. The percentage change shown by the dotted line is calculated from the two reported figures because the company did not provide the rate.
In overseas markets, the effects of price revisions made in response to higher raw material costs were realized ahead of expectations. In Japan, however, the impact of the price revisions on net sales was delayed, and sales volume declined more than expected as higher costs were passed on. On the profit side, the forecast incorporates the expected mitigation of the impact on manufacturing costs through the adoption of the weighted-average method and increased raw material procurement through scrap recovery, lower-than-expected repair expenses and other costs, and the revenue growth effect in overseas markets. The full-year forecast has been calculated conservatively because the impact of higher raw material costs in the second half and the effects of raw material procurement measures remain uncertain.

The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. In overseas markets, the effects of price revisions made in response to higher raw material costs were realized ahead of expectations. In Japan, however, the impact of the price revisions on net sales was delayed, and the decline in sales volume resulting from the passing on of higher costs exceeded expectations, prompting a downward revision to the net sales forecast. On the profit side, the forecast incorporates the expected mitigation of the impact of higher tungsten prices on costs through the adoption of the weighted-average method and increased raw material procurement through scrap recovery, lower-than-expected repair expenses and other costs, and the revenue growth effect in overseas markets. The full-year forecast has been calculated conservatively because the impact of higher raw material costs in the second half and the effects of procurement measures remain uncertain.
