The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

Sales grew in North America and other parts of Asia, supported by progress on large projects and expanding automotive demand. In Japan, sales were weak due to automakers restraining investment, shifting investment overseas and delays in project timing. In China, sales were weak because of slowing EV demand and price competition. On the profit side, results were affected by the higher sales mix of lower-margin screw tightening systems, soaring raw material prices, increased quality improvement costs, inflation and rising labor costs, and declines in revenue from nutrunners and hand nutrunners.
