Factors Behind Changes in Business Performance

Although the shipbuilding industry maintained a high level of work on hand, demand in the industrial machinery and construction-related markets remained weak and market stagnation continued. The company pursued price revisions in response to higher raw material and logistics costs, deeper and expanded customer relationships, and new sales expansion activities. However, in welding equipment, shipments of arc welding machines and welding materials remained sluggish due to lower demand, while rising costs also contributed to the decline in profit. In the Other segment, revenue and profit increased on strong sales of helium liquefaction equipment.
