The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Although the previous medium-term management plan achieved its revenue target, its operating margin and ROE targets were not achieved, revealing structural issues including delays in launching new products, higher materials and labor costs, and delays in rationalizing and optimizing sales and production sites. In addition, amid major changes in the social environment and in customers’ manufacturing operations, the Company determined that fundamental improvements to its earnings structure and accelerated investment in growth areas were necessary.
