Fiscal year ending March 2027 · Six months (cumulative) and full fiscal yearPrevious forecast published Announced on 13 May 2026The bar length represents the relative magnitude of change, based on the item that changed the most in this document. The percentage change shown by the dotted line is calculated from the two reported figures because the company did not provide the rate.
In the civil engineering and construction-related products business, construction projects using high-strength shear reinforcement bars progressed generally as planned in the first half of the first six months, resulting in increased sales volumes. In the contract heat-treatment processing business, overseas parts for automobiles and construction machinery continued to see increased production, while orders from the machine tool industry also increased more than expected. Operating profit benefited from increased sales volumes, the resolution of the situation in which steel price increases had preceded corresponding sales price increases, sales price revisions, and the results of cost reduction activities. Increases in dividends received and foreign exchange gains were also factors behind the upward revisions to ordinary profit and profit attributable to owners of the parent.

The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. The sales forecast was revised in light of increased sales volumes of civil engineering and construction-related products, higher production of parts for automobiles and construction machinery, and increased orders from the machine tool industry. On the profit side, the increase in sales volumes of high-strength shear reinforcement bars, the resolution of the situation in which steel price increases had preceded corresponding sales price increases, sales price revisions, and the results of cost reduction activities contributed to the upside. Increases in dividends received and foreign exchange gains were also factors behind the upward revision.
