The accounting policy change for depreciating buildings and structures from the declining-balance method to the straight-line method was confirmed as applying for the full fiscal year. - FY2021-Q1First statedAnnual report
「The Company previously used the declining-balance method to depreciate buildings and structures, but changed to the straight-line method from the beginning of the first quarter of the current fiscal year. In connection with planned capital investment in buildings and other assets from the current fiscal year onward, the Company reviewed the actual use of its assets and reconsidered the depreciation method. Because these assets are expected to operate stably over the long term in the current business environment, the Company determined that the straight-line method, which allocates acquisition cost evenly over the useful life, more reasonably reflects their actual use.」
The depreciation method for buildings and structures was changed from the declining-balance method to the straight-line method to better reflect the use of assets expected to operate stably over the long term.
