The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

For the fiscal year ended March 2026, operating profit increased on the solid performance of each segment and higher revenue, while ordinary profit increased due to foreign exchange gains from the valuation of foreign-currency-denominated assets. Net income declined because the gain on liquidation of a subsidiary of ¥190 million and settlement proceeds received of ¥140 million recorded in the previous fiscal year did not recur. The targets in the medium-term management plan were lowered due to geopolitical risks, yen depreciation, higher resource and energy prices, and concerns about disruptions to the construction-materials supply chain resulting from the worsening situation in the Middle East.
