Reason for the revision

Although sales of split-type air conditioners and exports of oil-fired heating equipment were solid, sales of the core EcoCute products are expected to decline because of intensified competition and difficulties in the mid-range market, resulting in net sales falling below the forecast. On the profit side, the company was affected by lower sales of residential equipment and other products and higher purchase prices for raw materials and other items. Interim net income is expected to exceed the forecast, mainly because of gains on sales of investment securities from the sale of some cross-shareholdings held for policy purposes.

Previous-period resultsNet sales ¥40,220 million; operating loss ¥599 million; ordinary loss ¥364 million; interim net loss attributable to owners of the parent ¥259 million; interim net loss per share ¥8.87
