The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. In Japan, a challenging operating environment in the food-service industry caused demand for new store openings and renovations to stagnate, resulting in lower product sales and store-environment sales. In addition, procurement prices for imported beef and vegetables, as well as labor costs, increased. Overseas revenue, meanwhile, recovered to approximately the previous year's level, supported by new orders for the Ami Rental Service, large-scale overseas projects and the completion of specification changes in North America.
