The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Consolidated ordinary profit and net income attributable to owners of the parent exceeded the forecast mainly because the yen remained weak against other currencies. Standalone ordinary profit differed from the previous fiscal year's results because foreign exchange losses decreased as a result of the weaker yen. Standalone net income differed because of extraordinary losses, including an impairment loss on shares of affiliates of approximately ¥1.4 billion and a provision for allowance for doubtful accounts relating to affiliates of approximately ¥1.0 billion, as well as the difference from the approximately ¥6.3 billion in extraordinary losses recorded in the previous fiscal year. The extraordinary losses expected in the next fiscal year will result from a labor-saving plan aimed at rationalizing the production system in response to changes in future demand trends.
