The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. For the fiscal year ended March 2026, higher sales of automotive, energy industry-related, medical, and semiconductor inspection equipment cables, a substantial increase in electronic equipment sales, strong demand in the North American market, new mass-production products and new products, and large OEM projects in the first half were factors contributing to the increase in revenue. Higher revenue was the main factor behind the increase in operating income, while higher copper prices, increased depreciation, higher research and development expenses, and foreign exchange-related losses were factors reducing profit. Medical component sales declined due to the impact of inventory adjustments by customers.
