Revenue increased due to solid demand in the industrial equipment markets in Japan and Asia, the translation impact of the weaker yen, and price revisions for some products in response to higher raw material prices. Profit was pressured by the stronger peso in North America, higher raw material prices and an unfavorable product mix, while higher sales volumes, global cost-reduction initiatives and a significant reduction in foreign exchange losses from the previous year contributed to profit.
