The Casting Business faced difficulties on the profit front because of a decrease in total orders resulting from delays in customer projects and demand for larger, thinner-walled and higher-strength products, but recovered as a result of establishing a quality control system and reducing fixed costs following the impairment loss recorded in the previous fiscal year. The CT Business reported lower sales and profit because it was unable to identify large-scale scanning needs and had no CT equipment sales comparable to those recorded in the previous year. Overall, the Company worked to secure raw materials and other supplies, negotiate costs with customers and selectively invest in equipment, but the resulting effects were limited relative to expectations.

The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Amid the yen's depreciation trend in the foreign exchange market, higher manufacturing costs due to geopolitical risks, and concerns over material procurement and logistics, net sales declined due to a decrease in total orders resulting from delays in the progress of customer projects and the absence of recorded CT equipment sales. Profit improved as a result of securing raw materials and other supplies, negotiating costs with customers, selectively investing in equipment, and reducing fixed costs following the impairment loss recorded for the fiscal year ended December 2025.
