The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Higher sales in the Lifeline Business and Industrial Construction Materials Business outweighed the decline in the Machinery Systems Business, resulting in a ¥556 million increase in net sales. Operating income and ordinary income increased mainly due to the higher sales, while interim net income attributable to owners of the parent declined because of extraordinary losses and other items associated with the partial integration of manufacturing processes at a plant, as well as higher income taxes, despite a gain on the sale of investment securities.
