The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. In FY2025, weak domestic demand, inflows of low-priced imported steel products, lower selling prices, and the suspension of the electric furnace, production reduction costs, switching to alternative iron sources, and equipment repair costs associated with the substation accident reduced profit. For FY2026, the outlook incorporates an expected increase in sales volume and higher selling prices, as well as rising raw material and other costs and concerns over supply uncertainty and additional cost increases resulting from geopolitical risks.
