Revenue declined by ¥118.4 billion from the previous consolidated fiscal year. Operating income declined by ¥28.8 billion. This reflected higher costs, mainly fixed costs; a smaller contribution from the timing mismatch in fuel cost adjustments in the power business; a smaller one-time contribution related to electricity sales prices; and the extension of the scheduled inspection of Unit 3 at the Kobe Power Station, despite higher revenue in Machinery as previously received orders progressed. Ordinary income declined by ¥35.8 billion due to the decline in operating income and the absence of compensation income related to European engine certification in the Construction Machinery business, which was recorded in the previous fiscal year. Net income declined by ¥26.4 billion, mainly due to an impairment loss on property, plant and equipment for aluminum sheets.
