The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. In the automotive-related business, sales of products for installation in new vehicles and replacement products increased. In the Components and Solutions business, sales to the generative AI and advanced logic semiconductor markets, the consolidation of Niterra Materials as a subsidiary, and fixed-cost reductions in the medical business contributed to results. In addition, a valuation gain of ¥99,527 million was recognized as a result of fair value measurement of investment securities. The company explained that it was difficult to establish assumptions for revising the forecast because of factors including precious metal prices, the situation in the Middle East, China's export controls, and fluctuations in the market prices of investment securities.
