The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. In the civil engineering materials business, expanded sales of products for ports in Hyogo Prefecture made a significant contribution to higher revenue. In addition to the increase in revenue, the expanded sales of high-value-added products and progress in passing higher raw material costs through to selling prices contributed to higher profits. For the next fiscal year, the Company expects profitability to be affected by the completion of large-scale construction projects undertaken in the prior fiscal year and a sharp rise in raw material prices and energy costs caused by concerns over crude oil supplies amid deteriorating conditions in the Middle East.
