Revenue from the Functional Products, Vibration Control and Hoses businesses remained strong. In addition to the increase in revenue, the benefits of higher productivity, efforts to optimise prices, and the reduction of loss-making, low-margin products outweighed the impact of increases in raw material, labour and other costs. The Life Science business was affected by lower orders from China for culture media and bags due to tighter regulations under China’s regenerative medicine system, while the Metal Processing business was affected by the selection and concentration of operations to improve profitability.
