The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. In Japan, results benefited from increased domestic production, the launch of new vehicles, broader adoption of high-value-added products, and price revisions. In North America, cost improvements at the Mexican subsidiary and the weaker yen contributed. As uncertainty is expected to continue from the second quarter onward due to factors including the situation in the Middle East, the full-year earnings and dividend forecasts were left unchanged.
