The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Revenue fell short of the plan because the Company set a new customer acquisition target above its historical performance in pursuit of renewed growth. The decline in operating profit was attributable to strategic investments in areas including AI and new products, particularly higher advertising and promotional expenses. The decline in net income was due to extraordinary losses, including a ¥98 million provision for business-structure improvements associated with the liquidation of overseas subsidiaries. The Company explained that profitability is expected to improve through cost reductions from the liquidation of overseas subsidiaries, higher profitability in the core business, and initiatives to raise prices.
