Despite revised selling prices and solid demand, net sales decreased due to the impact of transferring the Chinese joint venture from a consolidated subsidiary to an equity-method affiliate. Operating income increased due to the effects of price revisions and cost controls, while ordinary income increased due to higher operating income and an increase in equity in earnings of affiliates. Net income attributable to owners of the parent decreased mainly because gains on sales of investment securities declined significantly.
