The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. In the agrochemicals business, sales increased due to the collection of advance orders for rice paddy chemicals, higher sales of horticultural chemicals, and increased overseas sales to markets including India and Brazil. The increase in agrochemicals sales contributed to higher consolidated operating profit, ordinary profit and net income. The fine chemicals business was affected by fluctuations in customer demand, demand being pushed back, and inventory adjustments.
