Demand remained strong for products used in advanced semiconductor package substrates related to generative AI and other applications, as well as general-purpose semiconductor package substrates. Chemical shipments increased, and demand for highly profitable products remained firm. Net profit attributable to owners of the parent also benefited from the reversal of a temporary downward factor in the previous year, when income taxes increased due to higher dividends received from overseas subsidiaries.
