The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Growth in the direct-sales and general retail businesses drove the increase in net sales. However, the decline in sales in the TV shopping and OEM businesses reduced the contribution of higher-margin businesses, while investments in personnel and advertising, as well as promotional and logistics costs, increased, resulting in lower profit. The earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027 remains undetermined because the impact of unstable raw material procurement amid the situation in the Middle East and rising raw material and logistics costs is difficult to estimate reasonably.
