As a result, (1) “management guidance fees,” “sales promotion subsidies” and “sales promotion expenses (cashback linked to sales),” which had previously been expensed under selling, general and administrative expenses, are now treated as sales rebates; (2) “sales promotion expenses (products provided based on sales),” previously expensed under selling, general and administrative expenses, are now included in cost of sales; and (3) costs equivalent to the cost of products, previously estimated and recognized as a “provision for losses on returned products” for the cost of exchanging inventory held by distributors and reflected in cost of sales, are now estimated and recognized as refund liabilities deducted from sales from the current first quarter accounting period. As a result, compared with before the retrospective application, revenue for the cumulative first quarter of the previous fiscal year decreases by ¥17.160 million and selling, general and administrative expenses decrease by ¥17.160 million, while operating loss, ordinary loss and quarterly net income after taxes remain unchanged.
