The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Profit improved in the fiscal year ended March 2026 as the impact of impairment losses and business structure improvement expenses recorded in the previous fiscal year fell away, and as global structural reforms and the selection and concentration of businesses took effect, revenue increased in the Industrial Business, and selling, general and administrative expenses were reduced. Revenue declined mainly because the company narrowed its business scope and revenue fell in the Digital Workplace Business and Imaging Solutions Business. For the fiscal year ending March 2027, the company expects uncertainties including a gradual decline in print volume, restrained customer investment, U.S. tariffs, energy and raw material prices, memory procurement, and foreign exchange movements, while it plans to expand service offerings, reduce costs, and increase production capacity.
