The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.The Company determined that continued participation was not necessarily conducive to maximizing business value, for the following reasons: RS5614 was excluded from the current award category (TOP10) because it is an unapproved drug, and was considered different from the existing therapies that are the competition's primary focus; the conditions relating to data ownership, licensing, the 10-year contract, and future research and commercial use upon continued participation as a finalist could hinder the business; and, given RS5614's advantages as a novel pharmaceutical drug substance, continued participation was not necessarily considered to maximize business value.
