The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. On the payment platform, payment transaction volume increased as a result of growth in Cloud Pay and the launch of large-scale projects for the KDDI Group. In long-term incubation, business losses narrowed as multiple businesses grew, while in global investment incubation, loss before tax narrowed due to the reversal of the substantial decline in the valuation of operating investment securities in the previous fiscal year and the impact of the weaker yen. This was partly offset by a decrease in equity-method investment income from Kakaku.com and a one-off impairment loss on shares in an associate. The earnings forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027 has not been disclosed because it is difficult to reasonably estimate the fiscal year-end fair value of securities held and because a new medium-term management plan is currently being formulated.
