The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Strong sales of overseas distribution and merchandising rights for major titles, the weaker yen, and solid performance from new merchandise stores and events contributed to higher revenue and profit. Selling, general and administrative expenses increased due to strategic investments related to the Medium-Term Management Plan, but strong performance in the highly profitable overseas business more than offset the increase.
