「The following facts were identified at the US subsidiary. In software licence sales transactions, the subsidiary entered into separate side letters at around the same time as the main contracts to make the customers risk-free, even though the terms meant that the US subsidiary effectively continued to retain the risks, and recorded revenue based only on the main contracts, resulting in an overstatement of revenue. In software licence sales transactions, the subsidiary recorded revenue by preparing false transaction supporting documents and materials even though the conditions for revenue recognition had not been met, resulting in premature revenue recognition.」
At IP Infusion, overstatements and premature recognition of revenue, as well as overstatements of software assets, were identified, and prior-year reports for the fiscal years ended January 2021 through January 2024 and other periods were restated. The company identified the involvement of certain members of management and insufficient internal checks and awareness of financial reporting standards as the causes.
