Reason for the revision

Net sales are expected to exceed the previous forecast due to strong performance in the main creative businesses in Japan, the medical business and the 高橋書店 Group. Operating profit and ordinary profit are expected to fall slightly below the previous forecast because upfront costs were incurred as the expansion of floor space and capabilities for the creative studio function in the games business was brought forward. Profit attributable to owners of the parent is expected to significantly exceed the previous forecast due to a decrease in tax expenses and the recognition of extraordinary income from a ¥619.229 million subsidy from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry, among other factors.

Previous-period resultsNet sales: ¥50,275 million; operating profit: ¥3,614 million; ordinary profit: ¥3,694 million; profit attributable to owners of the parent: ¥2,251 million; earnings per share: ¥105.45 (fiscal year ended February 2025)
Dividend forecast revisionThe year-end dividend forecast was increased from ¥45.00 to ¥50.00, and the annual dividend forecast was likewise increased from ¥45.00 to ¥50.00.

The reasons the company gives

The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.

Net sales are expected to exceed the previous forecast, supported by strong performance in the main creative businesses in Japan, the medical business and the 高橋書店 Group. However, operating profit and ordinary profit are expected to fall below the previous forecast because upfront costs were incurred as the expansion of floor space and capabilities for the creative studio function in the games business was brought forward. Profit attributable to owners of the parent is expected to exceed the previous forecast, mainly due to a decrease in tax expenses recognized when the shares of the 高橋書店 Group were acquired and the recognition of extraordinary income from a ¥619.229 million subsidy from the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. The dividend was increased based on profit excluding the impact of the subsidy.
