The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. The issues faced by people and the value they seek are changing as social conditions evolve and Japan's birthrate declines and population ages rapidly. In light of the Company's 50th anniversary, it determined that a medium- to long-term management policy under which the entire Group would take on challenges was necessary, rather than pursuing short-term numerical targets.
