Fiscal year ending August 2026 · Cumulative second-quarter period (consolidated)Previous forecast published 14 October 2025The bar length represents the relative magnitude of change, based on the item that changed the most in this document. The percentage change shown by the dotted line is calculated from the two reported figures because the company did not provide the rate.
Net sales exceeded the forecast due to increases in the number of students and revenue per customer in the directly operated Meiko Gijuku school business, an increase in student numbers in the Japanese-language school business, and higher sales in the Kids business and the Jiritsu Gakushu RED business, among others. In addition to the effect of higher sales, expenses were below expectations as a result of company-wide expense controls, leading to higher-than-forecast operating profit. Furthermore, equity-method investment gains exceeded expectations due to strong performance by equity-method affiliates, causing ordinary profit and interim net income attributable to owners of the parent to significantly exceed the forecast.
