The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. The increase in revenue and profit was attributable to higher sales volumes in the Americas, Europe, and India and Vietnam in Asia, as well as efforts to improve profitability with a focus on capital efficiency in Japan and Europe. For operating profit, higher ink volumes and ink unit prices were positive factors, while increased costs for raw materials and other items weighed on profit.
