Reason for the revision

In the domestic coatings business, sales recovered as a result of the lifting of the temporary suspension of JIS mark labelling and progress on preventive measures, with sales volumes exceeding expectations. The forecast was revised upward in light of revisions to selling prices in response to higher raw material prices, improved production efficiency and the expected recognition of approximately ¥410 million in gains on the sale of shares in an affiliated company as extraordinary income.

Previous-period resultsInterim period: net sales of ¥45,965 million, operating income of ¥1,817 million, ordinary income of ¥2,124 million, interim net income attributable to owners of the parent of ¥1,405 million, and interim earnings per share of ¥49.32. Full year: net sales of ¥93,759 million, operating income of ¥3,854 million, ordinary income of ¥4,479 million, net income attributable to owners of the parent of ¥1,688 million, and earnings per share of ¥59.16.
