The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Domestic paint sales volumes increased as the impact of quality issues eased, demand recovered after the lifting of the temporary JIS suspension, and customers moved to secure inventory against the backdrop of the situation in the Middle East. Production efficiency also improved. Higher costs, including rising raw material prices, were absorbed through higher sales volumes, price revisions and improved production profitability. Overseas paints reported lower profit due to declining sales in Mexico, while lighting equipment reported lower profit due mainly to higher advertising and personnel expenses.
