The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers. While revenue was recorded mainly from sales of Episil® products, the Company recorded ¥112 million in research and development expenses, primarily for the expansion of Dalvance® indications, animal testing of SP-04, and investment in new development candidates. Selling, general and administrative expenses also totaled ¥198 million. Sancuso® generated no product sales in the first quarter due to the transfer to a Chinese sales partner, and no income from the installment payment under the license agreement has yet been recognized.
