The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Sales of genetic testing kits declined as the scale of COVID-19 infections diminished and the disease was reclassified to Category 5. Sales of antigen kits remained at approximately the same level as in the same period of the previous year, while sales of influenza-only test kits increased slightly. However, demand declined for tests for other infectious diseases and in the OTC segment. Gross profit also declined due to lower revenue and changes in the revenue mix, resulting in declines in each profit measure.
