The reasons the company gives
The company's own explanation, not something inferred from the numbers.Revenue grew due to higher sales of overseas products, the inclusion of 12 months of sales of products from Deciphera, compared with 9 months in the previous fiscal year, and increased royalty income. In contrast, domestic product sales declined due to intensifying competition and the entry of generic products for Forxiga tablets. Operating profit benefited from higher revenue, cost of sales remaining largely unchanged from the previous fiscal year, and more efficient expenses. For the next fiscal year, the company expects sales and expenses to decline following the end of the co-promotion agreement for Forxiga tablets, while one-off expenses recorded in the current fiscal year are not expected to recur.
